Having qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1978 whilst working in commerce, Richard then joined a Bristol-based chartered accountancy practice, where he qualified as a chartered accountant and became a partner in 1988.
In 2009, Richard left this firm of accountants, who had by then merged with a Top Ten practice, and set up his own business. He then merged his practice with Whyatt Pakeman Partners in 2011.
During his career, Richard has always specialised in tax, covering all taxes for a full range of company clients, professional practices, owner-managed businesses, farmers and wealthy individuals, in a range of work from routine compliance to the most complex tax consultancy projects.
Outside the office, Richard likes to spend time with his family and enjoys most sports, although this is now mainly restricted to spectating, with participation in the odd 10K run thrown in for good measure.

Whyatt Pakeman are very much part of our team
